I’ve been playing video games since the grey-brick GameBoy days, so it’s fair to say that a large portion of my life has been spent staring at screens. I am ok with that. In fact, I’m kind of proud of that.

My favorite genres are RPG, puzzle, narrative-driven horror, adventure, and fishing/farming sims. I’ve been branching out lately into roguelite/roguelike, which has been a fun change. And there are occasional platformer games that make me -almost- revoke my “I hate platformers” stance.

One genre that I absolutely will not play is FPS. My brother used to get me to play Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark with him when we were teenagers, but that’s where it ended. I am also not a fan of PVP, to include hero shooters, fighting games, and the PVP aspects of MMOs (though my drunken guildmates used to be able to pull me into battlegrounds and arenas at 2am in the good old days of WoW).
